It's been a while...

We have done some fun things and some not so fun things since my last post.

Last weekend was Labor day and we had some fun as a family. On Sunday afternoon we went to my folks' house for watermelon and crullers. It's a summer tradition in our family. Watermelon, crullers, lunchmeat, cheese, etc. Crullers are a type of fried bread, and they are absolutly delicious. Although, I don't know if I would like them that much if we weren't eating watermelon. As a kid, we used to get together with another family every August and eat this meal. They have 2 boys who were older than us, but we still have fun memories of that.

Afterwards, we had a fast action paced game of Croquet. I won of course. That was only by luck. We had never introduced JT to that game before, he didn't even know Grammie and Gramps had it. Now that he does, he wants to play it all the time.
Joel had surprised me by getting me a new clothes line for outside. I have wanted one ever since we bought our house. So on Monday, my dad came over and he and Joel got the post cemented in. Of course I haven't used it yet, because it won't stop raining here.

While they were working on the clothes line, JT was busy sawing away at a railroad tie. We have a bunch of those lining our property and one fell and broke, so he was sawing it. Even though now that I look at the picture, he's sawing the one that DIDN'T fall.

We also had a nice ER visit this week. JT has his first stitches. Not from sawing though. He was carrying a glass jar with worms in it, tripped and fell and it shattered. So he has 3 stitches near his thumb. It wasn't a clean cut, so it's going to be a pretty crazy looking scar.

One last thing. Riley got his first "real" grooming this week. Usually I just give him a haircut myself. It always looks pretty choppy though. They told us he was a poodle when we adopted him from the humane society, but I didn't think he was full bread because he was so scruffy. Well, after the grooming...he is 100% poodle. Which pic do you think is more adorable.

Another fun and busy weekend has started. My folk's church is celebrating their 50th anniversary so we have some fun activities we are going to be doing there. Also my Grandparent's from Colorado are here visiting. They were charter members of the church so they came back for the celebration. Also my my aunt from California came. She flew into Denver and helped drive with my Grandparent's.

Monday night, JT starts Cub Scouts. Then we have soccer practice on Tuesday and Thursday. Games will be on Saturday's. We were to have our first soccer practice today but of course it's raining...so I'm thinking they will cancel.
