Life get's busy

That pretty much says it all. Life gets busy. I don't know how people do it with more than one kid. Just having JT keeps me busy. And how do you make it work when they are involved in things? He's just in Soccer, but that takes up 2 nights a week, plus part of Saturday. Can you tell I'm fishin' for an excuse as to why I haven't posted anything for a long time?

Let me think what all has happened. I went on vacation the first week of October. It was incredible. I cried when I got to see all of my friends, I cried when I got to spend quality time with them, then I cried on the way home! But now I'm home, life is life, and it's all good.

Let me first appologize to those of you who are reading this, who live in Loveland. I'm sorry that I didn't have time to connect with all of you, I really would have loved to see EVERYONE, but my main focus on being there was to go on a ladies retreat with Ressurection Fellowship. I got to spend the weekend up in Estes Park. On our free time, my friend Staci and I drove up into Rocky Mountain National Park to look at the Aspen and see the Elk. Here's some pics. For some reason it's not letting me load the pic's of all the elk, so if I can figure that out, I will post them another time.

For those of you who love the warm weather, sandy beach, palm trees and the ocean...you can keep it! I will take the mountains on a cool, crisp day anytime!

JT met a new cousin. My cousin Marcy lives near Denver and she and her family came up for lunch with the rest of our family. Here's a cute pic with JT and his 2nd cousin, Wes.

Shoes

This weekend JT learned to tie his shoes. After the first try...and crying, he picked it up right away on the 2nd try. He spent quite a while practicing because he wanted to tie his own shoes for his soccer game. He was so proud that it's the first thing he told his coach, then proceeded to tell everyone else.

Here is just one thing that makes Kansas beautiful...The Sunflowers. This field is just about 2 miles west of town. I took so many pic's the other night, here are some of my favorites.

Soccer

JT is playing outdoor soccer this fall. He's had 2 practices. He should have had 5 practices and one game already, but we have had so much rain that they had all been cancelled.

His first practice last week was hard for me. There was this kid out there, a 6 year old, and he was a true bully. He was so mean to JT, pushed him, called him stupid, tripped him. JT fought back too. He got a talking to for that, but I also went up to the other kid and asked if his mom or dad were there. He said (with his big eyes staring up at me with fright) "yes" and I said " would you like me to go talk to them?" he said no, so I just told him to knock it off.

I told JT to yell in his face "STOP IT" if he tried anything tonight. Right away, that kid pushed him and JT yelled "STOP IT" and walked away. I was so proud! Then the kid proceeded to call him stupid. But after that, the kid looked at me and I gave him the "mean mama" look. He stopped. Numerous times through out the evening he and I made eye contact. Let's just say, by the end of practice, those 2 boys bumped into each other, and the "bully" said "hey JT, you ok?" Then lent him a hand and helped him up.

Here's come cute pics. One is of JT stopping the ball when he was goalie. The other is of him being a "ladies man" He's always with the ladies!

Vacation

My Grandparent's were here from Colorado a couple weeks ago for a visit. Here's some cute pics.
My Gramps is soon to be 90 and my Grandma is soon to be 88. I think they look pretty snazzy for their age.

Not that I'm counting, but I'm on vacation in 15 days! Yipppy! Let's just say I'm going to my favorite place on earth. The Aspen will be golden, the elk will be bugling, and it will be chilly! Can you say...THE MOUNTAINS! 15 more days, 15 more days!

It's been a while...

We have done some fun things and some not so fun things since my last post.

Last weekend was Labor day and we had some fun as a family. On Sunday afternoon we went to my folks' house for watermelon and crullers. It's a summer tradition in our family. Watermelon, crullers, lunchmeat, cheese, etc. Crullers are a type of fried bread, and they are absolutly delicious. Although, I don't know if I would like them that much if we weren't eating watermelon. As a kid, we used to get together with another family every August and eat this meal. They have 2 boys who were older than us, but we still have fun memories of that.

Afterwards, we had a fast action paced game of Croquet. I won of course. That was only by luck. We had never introduced JT to that game before, he didn't even know Grammie and Gramps had it. Now that he does, he wants to play it all the time.
Joel had surprised me by getting me a new clothes line for outside. I have wanted one ever since we bought our house. So on Monday, my dad came over and he and Joel got the post cemented in. Of course I haven't used it yet, because it won't stop raining here.

While they were working on the clothes line, JT was busy sawing away at a railroad tie. We have a bunch of those lining our property and one fell and broke, so he was sawing it. Even though now that I look at the picture, he's sawing the one that DIDN'T fall.

We also had a nice ER visit this week. JT has his first stitches. Not from sawing though. He was carrying a glass jar with worms in it, tripped and fell and it shattered. So he has 3 stitches near his thumb. It wasn't a clean cut, so it's going to be a pretty crazy looking scar.

One last thing. Riley got his first "real" grooming this week. Usually I just give him a haircut myself. It always looks pretty choppy though. They told us he was a poodle when we adopted him from the humane society, but I didn't think he was full bread because he was so scruffy. Well, after the grooming...he is 100% poodle. Which pic do you think is more adorable.

Another fun and busy weekend has started. My folk's church is celebrating their 50th anniversary so we have some fun activities we are going to be doing there. Also my Grandparent's from Colorado are here visiting. They were charter members of the church so they came back for the celebration. Also my my aunt from California came. She flew into Denver and helped drive with my Grandparent's.

Monday night, JT starts Cub Scouts. Then we have soccer practice on Tuesday and Thursday. Games will be on Saturday's. We were to have our first soccer practice today but of course it's raining...so I'm thinking they will cancel.
